My new blog idea

Last week my husband and I had a little talk about blogging. He said that he felt that if I was to do a blog, that I should hold to Titus 2 and teach what is in those verses pertaining to women that profess godliness. So I've decided to start a blog and totally dedicate it to that. This blog is mainly for witnessing about what the Lord has and is doing in my life and His work here in the Philippines. I thought about putting the two together, but I think it would be too cluttered and would take a long time to load. When I get it up and going, I will put a link on this blog.
God Bless

I decided to change the name of my blog, as I feel this better suits what Christ did in my life. I was a slave to sin, the devil, and the world. When I commited my life to Christ, He freed me from my former master, and I willing chose to serve Him. What a wonderful thing it is that we have a Lord and King who doesn't force us to serve Him or keep us in bondage!!

Only eight souls were saved....

Lately I have been faced with the stark reality that there are not going to be many people who will go to heaven to be with God. In fact most won’t. How do I know this? Jesus tells us that broad is the way that leads to destruction and many go in there at. Then he tells us that straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are that find it. If we wanted to get a picture of how much many and few are, we could reach into our pocket and pull out our change. Now if we took 2 coins in one hand and left all the other change in the other hand, we would have an idea. The hand that has a lot more that 2 coins has many coins, and the hand with the 2 coins has a few. If I took Jesus’ words seriously then I would know that the modern gospel which is claiming to” save” hundreds of thousands of people worldwide isn’t lining up with what He said. So if there are just few that find the way, it would seem that fewer still will walk in it. And it does seem that way, if you are truly walking in it in your everyday life. Some people have imagined themselves on it, but they are on another way in between the broad way and the narrow way. Most are on the broad way. So how does the modern “revival” of hundreds of thousands of people getting saved everyday fit into this warning? Well, to put it plainly, it doesn’t fit.

When I made the commitment to follow Jesus, and to do anything that He said I should do, I didn’t realize how narrow the way really is. Since that commitment was made 4 years ago, I have only met few people who are on this same path. In another place, Jesus asks the question “When I return, will I even find faith on the earth?” If this were not going to be the case, why would he even say this if there are going to be an innumerable amount of people who are “saved by faith?”

Being in the Philippines has in a lot of ways helped me to see through the smoke screen this world uses to blind people. When we are in the states, we don’t see a lot of what most of the world lives in. We don’t see handicapped beggars who sleep in their own urine, unless we make a real effort to find them in the worst parts of our country. We don’t see the tragedy of corruption and hatred all around us normally. But here, it is everywhere. There is not enough smoke to cover it up. We lived in Mindanao for 5 months, and it was the most trying time of my life because I had never been exposed to the what the people there see and live daily. You see the reality of life, and it makes you realize the reality of the narrow way.

The Lord has blessed me with many opportunities to tell people what the bible says in regards to how they are living. Yeah, they may have listened, but they don’t really care. I talked with our neighbor, who is a 16 year old lesbian. I asked if she was concerned that she was going to be judged for that, and she replied “No, it’s what makes me happy”. At least she was honest. I took a look at my brother’s myspace page, and that is when I really understood the reality of my loved ones being included in the "many" category. Jesus tells us that " this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil"(John 3:19) I’ve had to accept the fact that people don’t really want to stop sinning and truly be saved because they love their sin and this world and hate the truth. The bible talks about Noah, how he prepared an ark to the saving of his household, and only 8 people were saved out of a world full of people when the flood happened. Let me repeat that, EIGHT. That’s a few. And it will be the same when Jesus returns to judge this world. It’s a good habit to ask yourself everyday,” If Jesus came right now, would I be in the ark?” Noah was prepared, are we?
